Any not-for-profit organisation from within the European geographical area can apply to receive funding. Besides the eligibility criteria set out in the terms and conditions, certain minimum requirements apply to each Outdoor Activity Day delivered:

Who decides?

Applications are reviewed and shortlisted by an independent Grant Selection Committee. The shortlist is scored by the It’s Great Out There Coalition members. Applications having the highest combined Committee and member score will be allocated funding until the budget for the referencing period has been spent.

What is the IGOT Grants programme?
Through our grants programme you can receive up to €5.000 to deliver physical activity in nature, as well as request gear and other support to break down the barriers to outdoor activity. We provide financial support to small, grassroots non-profit organisations running deserving projects that deliver Outdoor Activity Days in local communities effectively breaking down barriers to outdoor access.
Who can apply for a grant?
Any not-for-profit organisation from within the European geographical area can apply to receive funding, subject to the eligibility criteria set out in the terms and conditions.
What are the requirements for an Outdoor Activity Day?
Certain minimum requirements apply to each Outdoor Activity Day delivered:
Each day focuses on activating primarily inactive people.
Each day includes at least 150 minutes of outdoors physical activity.
Each day provides a safe environment guaranteed by outdoor professionals.
Each day is delivered inclusively, sustainably and responsibly.
Each day includes an environmental education element.

Streamlining our activation efforts through Outdoor Activity Days lets us maximise our impact beyond activation by funding inclusive and responsible activation, set a quality standard for funded projects, set a transparent performance indicator, and serve as a tangible currency for donations and membership contributions.

Applications are reviewed and shortlisted by an independent Grant Selection Committee. The shortlist is then scored by the It’s Great Out There Coalition members, and applications with the highest combined Committee and member score are allocated funding until the budget for the referencing period has been spent. Where possible, we also try to match our members with their favourite grant projects: increased visibility on both sides, meeting gear needs, and potential for prolonged collaboration.
What’s the step-by-step process after I apply?
1. Application. 2. Announcement & Exchange, triggered by an email announcement. 3. Implementation, once the first 80% of funding has been received. 4. Reporting, after the final 20% of funding is received.
