Content Manager (Part-Time/Freelance)

The It’s Great Out There Coalition is looking for a creative, organised, and mission-driven Content Manager to help us tell the story of why being outdoors matters.

This is a flexible, part-time role ideal for someone who enjoys shaping narratives, managing content calendars, and working independently while collaborating with a small, passionate team.

💻 Contract: Part-time / freelance (flexible)

Time commitment: 4–6 hours per week

📍 Location: Remote

What will you do?

  • Plan, create, and schedule engaging content across our digital channels (primarily social media and website)
  • Manage a simple content calendar aligned with campaigns, seasons, and coalition priorities
  • Edit and adapt content from coalition members (blogs, quotes, reports, visuals)
  • Ensure consistency in tone, messaging, and brand voice
  • Track basic performance metrics and suggest improvements
  • Coordinate lightly with coalition partners and internal stakeholders


What are we looking for?

  • Experience in content creation and/or content management
  • Strong writing and editing skills in English
  • Confidence managing social media platforms and digital content tools
  • Excellent organisation and time management (you’ll be trusted to work independently)
  • Interest in outdoor recreation, sustainability, public engagement, or advocacy is a big plus
