It’s Great Out There is a not-for-profit collaboration on a European level launched by the outdoor industry in 2017 to increase public awareness of the benefits and positive impact of outdoor activities for individuals and for society.

It’s Great Out There is embedded in the outdoor industry and works closely with its industry partners: the European Outdoor Group and the European Outdoor Conservation Association. Together, we have a vision for a sustainably profitable industry that gives back more to society and nature than it takes.

Since its foundation in 2003 the EOG has grown from a deep human aspiration that the outdoor world can be profitable and differentiated from mainstream business by its belief in doing things in the right way in all areas, and through pre-competitive cooperating on the big issues that can only be effectively addressed together.

Protecting out natural environment.

The EOG was integral in setting up the European Outdoor Conservation Association. It now operates independently to take action to conserve and restore nature and preserve its many habitats for all future generations

Diverse, inclusive and responsible participation.

In 2017, the EOG, with the support of other founding members from the outdoor industry, set up the ‘It’s Great Out There Coalition’ to inspire and actively support citizens to get active outdoors, promoting good physical and mental health.

Registered Charity

The It’s Great Out There Coalition is an offical International Non-Profit Organisation. We are a registered King Baudouin Foundation charity and included in the transparency register of the European Union.
